This letter is in response to your request for a letter of understanding concerning the potential
geologic risk of the extension of my back yard deck built at my residence located at 212 S. 20th
Place, Renton, Washington.
As the owner of this residential property, I understand and accept the risk associated with the
building of an extension of my back yard deck, as depicted on the enclosed drawings, over a
potentially unstable area. It was brought to my attention in June 2020 that a portion of the
northern edge of my property is considered a potentially unstable area and that a portion of my
back yard deck is constructed over that area. I hereby agree to advise in writing any future
purchasers of this residence of the construction of the back yard deck over a portion of this
potentially unstable area.
