Home My WebLink AboutAddendum - 1Page 1 of 2 AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR REELRENTON 2022 LODGING TAX/TOURISM PROMOTION GRANT PROGRAM THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as July 1, 2022, is by and between the City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and REELRenton (“Beneficiary”), a Washington Non-Profit Corporation. The City and the Beneficiary are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties. Whereas, the City, through its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (“LTAC”) awarded a Grant to the Beneficiary pursuant to the City’s Lodging Tax/Tourism Promotion Grant Program under Agreement CAG-22-212, dated June 21, 2022, to provide necessary services for the organization and implementation of the 2022 Seattle Film Summit at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington in Renton (referred to herein as the “Agreement”); and Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to increase the award in order to support supplemental programming as described in a request for additional funds made to the LTAC during the second round of 2022 grants. NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-22-050 is amended as follows: 1.Grant Amount: Section 1, Grant Amount, is amended so that the maximum amount of compensation payable to Beneficiary is increased by $20,000 from $40,000 to $60,000. The additional compensation shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in Exhibit A-1 which is attached and incorporated herein, and reflecting the anticipated expenses of the event increasing from $31, 012.00 in the original application to $188,896.49 to support the more robust event. 2.Scope of Eligible Expenses: Section 3, Scope of Eligible Expenses, is amended to add supplemental tasks and related expenses as specified in Exhibit A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein] 3.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if fully set forth herein. Focused on bringing together film, digital media professionals and creatives of all types, with the aim to expand and build infrastructure for local creatives. With our regional and national partners, we bring A-list production professionals from Hollywood and other thriving markets to provide access and knowledge to our local creatives. SFS caters to writers, directors, producers, distributors, acquisition executives, talent agents, attorneys, festival directors, and all those who want to grow their skills in entertainment- focused industries. Project scope of work This is a request to double the funds already allocated to SFS from round one. DEVELOPMENTS: SFS grant project created an Oscar Qualified international film in 2021. This project brought in 21 room nights outside of the annual event. SFS has partnered with the City of Renton to re-emerge the Renton Film Frenzy as a satellite event. This is a film challenge that will bring multiple teams to film in Renton and create more 'heads-in-beds' opportunities. We've now partnered with the Sport Commission, King County, the State Deparment of Commerce, and the State Film Funding organization. We will have more state officials, regional influencers, and organizations that can bring their events to Renton. List the beginning and ending date of your project 9/1 - 9/11 What's your plan to encourage more overnight stays in Renton hotels to replenish the hotel/motel lodging tax fund? How specifically will you measure if people travel more than 50 miles or stay overnight? Now in its 9th year, SFS is building on its success with the launch of its online community platform and multiple events that will culminate in its annual celebration. With a state, national, and international audience SFS needs the funding to add world-class elements to this event.
