While on-site, we met with Jerry Jr. with Continental Dirt Contractors (CDC) and Jared with Cornerstone. CDC was installing shallow storm line along the west side of the bus loop. CDC had finish-graded and recompacted the surface of the northern portion of the bus loop and hardscape areas. They were also cutting down the bus loop road between SD 7 and SD 5 approximately 8 inches in order to place a layer of winterizing rock, per Jerry Jr. On-site Storm Installation SD 7 to SD 5: While onsite today, we observed CDC installing shallow storm at SD 5. The storm excavation extended approximately 40 feet southwards of SD 5 towards SD 4 at the time of our site visit. Cut stakes showed the pipe invert elevation to be on the order of 4 feet deep at SD 4. Earlier today, CDC installed and backfilled the shallow storm from SD 7 southwards to near SD 5. The backfill consisted mostly of onsite soil mixed in varying amounts with the 2-1/2 inch minus crushed rock used for the building pad and some of the road area. The compacted surface of the trench just north of SD 5 was observed with a ½ inch diameter, steel soil probe and noted to be in a firm and unyielding condition. The surface along the storm trench north of SD 5 to SD 7 was being cut by a dozer to lower the road area. AESI will complete surface tests over the storm line at a later date. CDC planned to continue shallow storm tomorrow west of SD 4. The storm pipe is shown in Figure 1 below. Figure 1: Shallow storm being installed today shown in blue.
