Senior Advisory Board Meeting
Monday, December 3, 2018 – 10:00 am
Renton Senior Activity Center, 211 Burnett Ave N, Renton, WA 98057

1. Call to Order at 10:10 AM
2. Approval of Minutes
Beatrice motioned to approve Nov. 5th minutes, Margie 2nd all approved
Patty motioned to approve Oct. 15th minutes, Beatrice 2nd all approved with corrections
3. Discussion/Action Items
a.) Recruiting new Board Members - We will follow City application process. Once applications
are received Debbie will work with Margie to set up interview panel and questions to ask
applicants.
b.) Final Review and approval of Renton Senior Citizen Advisory Board Bylaws – Patty motioned,
Beatrice 2nd
c.) Celebrate passing/approval of Renton Senior Citizen Advisory Board Ordinance
Debbie and Margie will be meeting 2 weeks prior to Advisory Board meetings. Agenda will be
posted on City website a week prior to meeting. Meeting will be changed to once a month and
1.5 hours, 9:30-11AM
4. Information
a.) Coffee Bar Update – Timeline, everything has been ordered. Michael is coordinating the time
with contractors, more so in January. Grant spending has been pushed to March. Michael will
attend January meeting. Debbie passed around the samples board picked for coffee bar.
Furniture and cabinets. Coffee bar will close for 2 weeks while construction is being done.
Coffee on the 2nd floor will be available.
b.) Finance – Dissolving of non-profit process
2 accounts are set aside for craft bar and bingo $9,174.38 this balance will roll over to city
account. Marc will create a new account for these funds. $1,790.00 will go to Budkis fund,
Sandy will write a check. Randy – Margie gave him $50 gift card. For $9,174.38, Sandy will
write a check for the City of Renton. Total of funds at the moment: $11,014.28 - $9,174.38 -
$50.00 - $1,789.90. Patty made a motion to dissolve to funds of craft bazaar and bingo to city
of renton, $50 to Randy and the remaining balance of $1789.90 to Budkis funds.
5. Report
a.) Debbie Little - New Recreation Assistant; Elane R. who has moved from the Renton
Community Center who has been with the City for 15 years. Ryan has moved to the Highlands
Neighborhood Center. He is currently helping with the STREAM program.

b.) Sean Claggett – Rotary Thanksgiving lunch update, upcoming trips, offering 3rd yoga class,
offering travel class
c.) Carrie Nass – Community Services Advisory Board Holiday Celebration.
