We are about 45 days from the completion of the first phase and Qwest wants to start the second phase in January. That would put the final completion in May, providing there are no delays such as we have experienced on the first phase. Evergreen Utility Contractors,Inc. requests an extension for a period of one year. May 11,2000 Subject : Request for a Temporary Use Permit Location : Vacant lots located on Airport Way directly East of the All City Diner at 423 Airport Way Project : U.S.West rebuild and upgrade The site will be used as a secured staging area during the term of our contract with U.S.West. The project consists of placing, splicing, and wrecking telephone facilities in various locations throughout the Renton Ave. S. and Rainier Ave. N. areas. The site will be used for equipment and material storage only. The equipment will consist of telephone type line trucks and splicing trucks. The material that will be staged there will be cable reels, strand reels, and miscellaneous line hardware such as bolts, washers, Etc. The storage containers are for splicing material which must be stored out of the weather. There will not be any fuels, oils, or other hazardous materials stored on the site. The crews will start at 7 A.M. and will normally quit by 5 P.M. Monday thru Friday. There will not be any scheduled weekends however it may be necessary to work an occasional Saturday. There will not be any night work. There will not be any work going on at the staging yard with the exception of the occasional loading and unloading of material. The staging site is a level gravel lot and a temporary 6' security fence(72' x 84' ) has been placed. Access will be via the paved alley and our trucks will enter Airport Way via the controlled intersections at Logan or Shattuck. There will not be any dust, mud, noise, or any other obtrusive issues.The projected start date is Monday, May 15, 2000 however that will depend on the arrival of material from U.S.West. The completion date depends on allot of variables at this time so we request a Temporary Use Permit for one year.
