The Wastewater Utility recommends that Council approve the oversizing request by Gladco Development, in the amount of$3,840.09, and direct staff to provide payment to the developer in that amount. Gladco Development, as part of its development of the Heritage Plat is required to install an off-site sewer main from their proposed plat to the City's new Liberty Lift Station in order to provide service to their plat. As part of that installation through the Liberty High School property, the City required the lines to be upsized to both 12-inch and 10-inch to accommodate future development. City code section 4-6-010 (C) permits developers to request for oversizing costs when the facilities they are required to install by the City exceed their specific need for their development. The developer meets this requirement through the installation of larger than needed sewer mains, including a drop structure in one of the manholes. Staff has reviewed the cost information provided by the developer and can confirm that the developer is asking for reimbursement of the material cost differences only. As such, we concur with their proposed amount for reimbursement.
