Code Text: Work in Right-of-Way Without Permit 9-10-1: The Renton Municipal Code states"it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or association to construct, cut up, dig up undermine, break, excavate, tunnel or in any way disturb or obstruct any street, alley, or any street pavement, street curb, sidewalk, driveway or improvement in the city without first having obtained written permission. The party requesting such permit shall make application in writing and simultaneously therewith file with the city's public works department a plat or sketch drawn to scale showing the location and plan of the construction, excavation, cutting or other work desired to be done, and the street, alley or place to be so used, together with a full description of the nature of the work. The city's public works department shall thereupon examine such application and upon approval thereof and the filing of a proper performance bond, the public works department shall thereupon issue a permit. Corrective Action: The metal mesh fencing and masonry structures between the parcel north property boundary line and th sidewalk are in the City of Renton right of way and require a right of way use permit. In this regard, immediately apply for a right of way use permit. For information on permit application call 425-430-7200. Respond to all plan review comments within 14 calendar days of request. Obtain the right of way use permit within 15 calendar days of permit approval. Call for inspection within 15 calendar days of permit issuance. Respond to all correction notices within 15 calendar days of notice and call for re-inspection. Obtain additional permits as needed.
