Kick-off and Site Visit Watershed will meet with the client team on-site or virtually to review project goals and objectives, work through a basic interpretive plan including ideas for improving exhibit accesssibility, discuss interpretive resources and a project schedule, and discuss potential future signage at the park. After the meeting, if on-site, Watershed can spend two hours gathering informal visitor input to assess interest levels in the themes discussed during the Kick-off. Watershed will follow up with a summary of the Kick-off discussion, recommendations based on visitor input, and a detailed schedule. Kick-off Deliverables: Kick-off meeting Informal visitor evaluation and recommendations Meeting summary Project schedule Task 2. 30% Design Based on discussions during Task 1, Watershed will define a theme and stories for the sign and create a 30% design concept including proposed accessibility enhancements. Any cost implications of accessibility enhancements will be identified and presented to the City for review and approval prior to the 60% design deliverable. Watershed’s sign format will fit within the existing frame. Watershed will facilitate a meeting to discuss the 30% designs, after which the client will have time to respond with written comments compiled into a single document. If desired, Watershed can develop a plan for the client to gather additional visitor feedback, using the 30% design as a prototype to show visitors on-site. Findings would help ensure that the final sign is engaging and accessible to the target audience. 30% Deliverables: Theme, message(s) and 30% design for a 24”x36” sign Content outline with cited sources Meeting to receive 30% feedback from client (Optional) Plan for prototyping/visitor evaluation Task 3. 60% Design and Site Visit Incorporating feedback from the 30% review and any findings from visitor evaluation, Watershed will write draft text and advance the design to 60% completion. The refined design will be reviewed by the client team for stylistic direction, compliance with design standards and best practices for interpretive engagement, and appropriate messaging. The 60% design will be provided to the client for review in PDF format. The client will respond with comprehensive written comments compiled into a single document. Watershed will facilitate a meeting to discuss feedback. If desired, we can also visit the site to review bridge progress. 60% Deliverables: 1st draft of text and selection of all proposed images 60% design Meeting to receive 60% feedback from client Task 4. Final Design Incorporating feedback from the 60% review, Watershed will advance the work to final design and provide a proof to the client for review. If received, any final edits will be incorporated into the design and the final proof will be resubmitted for client approval. Files will be packaged for an internal production-ready review, then sent to the client in digital format. Final Design Deliverables: Final design proof Digital file package Task 5. Manufacturer Coordination After receiving the client’s approval of final design and text, Watershed will subcontract with Fossil Industries, Inc., to manufacture the panel, provide fabrication support, and ship final products to the client. We will communicate and provide updates throughout this process to ensure expectations are met. Manufacturing coordination tasks (i.e. file requirements) may begin as early as the 30% design stage, and will be billed on a time and materials basis. Watershed’s efficient design process is supported by dozens of successful projects and repeat clients. We begin with a project kick-off, followed by three rounds of design development and review. At 100% completion, proofs are provided for final approval by the client. Print-ready files are shared with the client, and Watershed coordinates with the selected manufacturer, who produces and ships the signs directly to the client.
