RECOMMENDATIONS
LCI recommends that the damaged piling(s) be
permanently restored with an extremely long lasting
sleeve method. The upper section of the pile will be
removed and a high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
tube will be fitted in place. The tube extends from near
the lakebed to the support beam underneath the dock.
It is then reinforced, the water is drained, and it is then
filled with concrete (see photo and diagram). This
repair method is very attractive, environmentally
friendly, and will last for decades.
