Grady Way CALL TO ORDER The Human Services Advisory Committee meeting for April 19, 2022 was called to order at 3:05 p.m. ROLL CALL Committee Members Present: Joseph Scovel (Chair) Adair Hasty (Vice-Chair) Leslie Anderson Gary Barquet Julie Dubravetz Jessie Friedmann Amy Koehl Margarita Villarreal Committee Members Absent: Staff Members Present: Guy Williams, Human Services Manager Lori Fleming, Human Services Coordinator Mariel Sacayan, Administrative Secretary 1 Matt Herrara, Current Planning Manager APPROVAL OF AGENDA Moved by Member Anderson, seconded by Member Friedmann. MOTION CARRIED. CONSENT AGENDA Page 1 of 3 April 19, 2022 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OLD BUSINESS Update on Human Services Needs Assessment Hannah Bahnmiller, Housing Manager Ms. Bahnmiller was not in attendance and did not provide an update on the Human Services Needs Assessment. Finalize Application Review Rating Tool Lori Fleming, Human Services Coordinator Ms. Fleming explained the HSAC Rating Tool for reviewing the 2023-2024 funding applications. Ms. Fleming proposes this tool would be used during the review process and made some recommendations for changes to the tool. Applications deadline closes April 28. Each city will review its own applications. One rating tool for each application. All groups will convene to determine which agencies will be funded. Ms. Fleming proposed deleting criteria number 13 on the Rating Tool Categories for Review and asked for input from the group. Criteria number 13 will remain as part of the Rating Tool. Unanimous Consent. Human Services Application Timeline Lori Fleming, Human Services Coordinator Ms. Fleming reviewed the timeline for the 2022-2023 General Fund Application Review for the HSAC. Review will begin in May and awards are anticipated to be made in the fall, with award/denial letters scheduled to be sent in December. NEW BUSINESS Community and Economic Development (CED) Presentation Matthew Herrera, Current Planning Manager Mr. Herrera provided an update on the Solera Master Plan located on Sunset Blvd. New Member Recruitment Mr. Williams provided an update on Committee vacancies. Currently two positions are available on the HSAC - one regular position and one youth position. Future Agenda Topics • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Training Benita Horn, Equity & Inclusion Consultant This training will be provided at a future meeting.
