HUMAN SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE (HSAC)
3:00 PM - Tuesday, June 21, 2022
Virtual Zoom Meeting
1. Call to Order
The Human Services Advisory Committee meeting for June 21, 2022 was called to order at 3:06 p.m.

2. Approval of Agenda
The meeting agenda was approved by the Committee.
3. Approval of Minutes
The Human Services Advisory Committee meeting minutes from May 17, 2022 were approved.
4. Human Services Needs Assessment Update
An update on the Human Services Needs Assessment Plan was provided by Hannah Bahnmiller,
Acting Community Development and Housing Manager. Phase 1 of the Plan is a human services
and equity needs assessment and Phase 2 is the implementation plan. The Consultant is
finishing a Providers Survey that was sent to approximately 100 human services providers in the
Renton area. An early review of the survey results shows agencies are indicating a need for
funding for more staff and addressing homelessness is a big need in the community.

5. Human Services Application Process Update
An update on the Human Services application process was provided by Lori Fleming, Human
Services Coordinator, which included:
a. Confirmation that each Committee member received their application notebooks and
50 copies of the Rating tools.
b. Review of the two Reading Group assignments. It was noted the Committee member
Jeannie Anderson has resigned, which now leaves four members assigned to each
group.
c. Review of the six priority need areas.
d. Review a sample application using the rating tool.
e. Discussion on the upcoming review meeting schedule, which was agreed to be every
other week starting at 4:00pm, reviewing about 10-11 applications at each meeting,
starting in early July, with a final meeting of both groups together in September. [Note:
Group #1 was assigned to meet on Tuesdays and Group#2 was assigned to meet on
Thursdays.]
Guy Williams, Human Services Manager announced that an additional $250,000 in human services
funding was approved, which increases the $562,000 amount available to a revised amount of $812,000
to be allocated to agencies for 2023-2024.
6. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 3:51pm.
The next regular Human Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
September 20, 2022 at 3:00 pm. For the months of July and August 2022, the Human Services Advisory
Committee will hold various subgroup meetings to review and make recommendations on the 2023-
2024 human services applications from agencies.
