CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
D. Proposed Civil Service Rule Change: 10.02 Order of Names on Eligibility Lists and 11.01 Certification from
Eligibility List
Pro-tem Examiner/Secretary Kim Gilman explained that historically promotional eligibility lists had
names of employees listed in alphabetical order. To align eligibility lists within the Department and
streamline processes, it was requested that promotional lists be formatted like all other eligibility lists,
in ranked order by grade. To do this, the rules would need to be revised to eliminate the words
“alphabetical order” and add reference to the ordering occurring based on their grades. Discussion
ensued.
Moved by Camila Lagow and Seconded by Louis Trujillo that the proposed edits to Civil Service Rules
10.02 and 11.01 be adopted.
.
7. Other Business/Comments
.
A. Commissioners discussed whether to move the date of the November meeting. Decision was made to
retain the regularly scheduled date of November 22, 2022.
B. Kathleen Booher asked about the status of current Commissioner vacancies. Kim Gilman reported that
we had not received any recent applications. Commissioners requested social media messaging occur
so that residents knew of the vacancies, and would be encouraged to apply.
C. Louis Trujillo reported that he would be attending military duty December 15-February 22nd, but plans to
attend the monthly meeting remotely.
D. Kim Gilman reported that the City recently hired new staff in the HRRM Department, and a new Civil
Service Examiner/Secretary would be appointed at the November meeting.
