THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Associated Earth Sciences Inc. (AESI) was on-site today around 8am to observe placement and compaction of electrical trench
backfill.
Electrical Trench Backfill
Upon our arrival, the elecrical contractor started backfilling previously excavated electrical trench located at the south end of the site
this morning (Photo 1). Electrical pipes were embedded with fine sand bedding followed by 2-3 feet of onsite fill soils. We
observed the fill to be comprised mostly of brownish-grey silty sand which appeared to be firm and unyielding probing no more
than 1-2 inches using a ½” diameter steel t-probe. The contractor compacted the fill in 1-foot lifts using a hoe compactor as they
worked their way south (Photo 2). AESI performed 6 compaction tests using a nuclear densometer. All tests met or exceeded the
minimum specified compaction of 95% of the proctor value. All test results from today are shown in Table 1 and their approximate
locations on Figure 1 below. AESI left the site in the afternoon and will return upon request.
