THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Associated Earth Sciences Inc. (AESI) was onsite at 9:30am to observe compaction of backfill of a storm trench to the south of
Detention Facility #1B. Upon arrival, we met with Jerry Jr. of CDC.
Detention Facility #1B
Backfill and compaction of fill material over the storm sewer had been completed prior to the arrival of the AESI representative. The
trench was filled with on-site soils and compacted using a track mounted hoe pack. Using a nuclear densometer, AESI preformed
compaction tests on the uppermost lift of the storm trench backfill. All tests were found to meet or exceed the minimum compaction
of 95%. Jerry Jr. with CDC was informed of the passing results. Compaction test locations can be seen in Figure 1, compaction test
results can be seen in Table 1.
AESI plans to return to the site at the request of the contractor to continue structural backfill observation.
