THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Associated Earth Sciences Inc. (AESI) was on-site in the morning for observation of Stormwater Detention Facility 2 progress and
storm line backfill, at the request of Jerry Jr. of CDC.
Stormwater Detention Facility 2
While on-site, we observed that the contractor had completed placement of the bottom geotextile protection liner and partially
completed placement of PVC liner. See Figure 1 for location of observed area today.
Storm Line Backfill
While onsite, AESI observed that a short section of 2’ of backfill was completed along Chelan Ave NE. The backfill, consisting of 5/8”
minus crushed rock, was placed in 1’ lifts and compacted with a hoepac. The contractor moisture conditioned the backfill during
placement, per our recommendation. AESI used a density gauge to test the newly backfilled section. Test results met or exceeded
95% compaction (Table 1). In our opinion, based on our observations and test results, we found the observed area of backfill, to be
firm and unyielding and suitable for support of planned paving. See Figure 2 for location of area observed today.
