Thank you for the opportunity to review and comment. Based on theinformation provided and our understanding of the project and itsAPE, we typically would recommend an archaeological reviewperformed for this project. This is in an area the Duwamish Tribeconsiders culturally significant and has a moderate probability tohave unknown archaeological deposits, particularly given the locationnear streams that feed into the Cedar River. After looking at the testpits from the geotechnical report, the Tribe is mainly concerned aboutthe contact between fill and sands with fines. If any archaeologicalwork is performed, we request notification. An IDP should not beused in lieu of an archaeological investigation. However the Tribewould accept an IDP for this project with attention paid to depthsbelow fill. Cultural and archaeological resources are non-renewableand are best discovered prior to ground disturbance. In addition theTribe recommends only native vegetation for any proposedlandscaping.
