Roll Call Vote being called , results were as follows : "Ayes" - Racanello, Denzer, Cordell "Nays" - Teegarden, Sterling , Stredicke , Garrison. Motion to table lost. FURTHER DISCUSSION followed relative to the suitability of the L-1 uses , if this rezoning.• granted. Also discussed was the possiblity of granting a special permit for the parking. Mr. Ericksen stated it was his understanding that parking might be allowed in R-4 if proper setbacks and screening were provided. '+ 'ACTION: Moved by Racanello, seconded by Denzer that the hearing be continued for 30 days. Motion carried. 3 . ERMINIA PAULON, APPL. NO. R-272-66 , from GS-1 to R-1 , property on the NE corner of lath Avenue S. and Morris Street S. Committee report: Recommends approval. • Staff report: The proposed R-1 zoning would conform with the adjacent residential uses and lto sizes , and would be in agreement with the Comprehensive Plan. (Property owner has also agreed to dedicate 15 ' on the west side of said property for street right of way. ) The Chairman asked if there were any objections or comments relative to this ,request. There being none, the•-'Commis.a-1 sion took?the.:follouiing action; to ACTION: Moved by Denzer, seconded by Cordell , that the hearing be closed. Motion carried. Moved by Cordell , seconded by Denzer, to recommend to the City Council the rezoning of this property from GS-1 to R-1, since this proposed _zoning is in agreement with the Comprehensive Plan. Motion carried. 4. T. S. & L PROS? RTI S1„ APPL. N.0)., R-272-66 , from B-1 to L-1, property located on the NW corner of Tobin 6 Shattuck Streets. Committee report: Recommends approval. Staff report: Proposed use is compatible with existing uses- to the north and would be in agreement with the Comprehensive Plan. Chairman Garrison asked if there were any objections or comments from the audience relative to the proposed. .rezone. Moved by Racanello , seconded by Denzer, to recommend to the City Council the rezone from B-1 to L-1 of the subject prop- erty, as it is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. Motion carried. 5 . VELTON WARREN, APPL. NO. R-274-66 , from R-1 to R-3 , proper- ty on Sunset Boulevard and 10th P1 . North for apartments , Committee report: Recommends approval. Staff report: The proposed area is bounded on the north by an. e xisting B-1 zone and on the east by an R-1 residential zone.. . The proposed R-3 . zoning is considered a reasonable use , however , adequate protection of the adjacent R-1 uses is essential . The Comprehensive Plan for this area would be either potential multiple residential or single family residential. Chairman Garrison invited comments from the audience, ' Mr. Ted LaValle , 2206 10th P1. North , voiced objection to the proposed construction of apartments , since he felt that 10th Place North is too narrow to take care of the increased traffic load. Mr. Warren , the applicant , stated that if the R-3 is granted , he could work out an access plan whereby traffic from the apartments would diverted to Sunset Boul- evard over the applicant 's property. ACTION: Moved by Stredicke , seconded by Cordell , that the hearing be closed. Motion carried. Moved by Stredicke , seconded by Teegarden, that the rezone to R-3 _be recommended to the City Council for approval, as it is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. Motion carried . 6 . JOHN RACANELLO , APPL. NO. R-280-66 , from R-2 to R-3 , proper- erty si uatn t e oc on' K Street , for apartments. Mr. Racanello disqualified himself from consideration of this matter. Committee re ort : Recommends approval , ' 1 report: is property is adjacent to an area pres- en y zone -1 and across from a business area . The proposed use would provide a reasonable buffer between business and single family residential uses . The Compre- hensive Plan indicates this area as multiple residential use. Chairman Garrison asked if there were any objections or com- ments from the audience.
