The proposed measure will be reviewed by the CED Administrator for approval) OFFICE USE ONLY Approved? Yes No Approved by: Approved on: INSTRUCTIONS To be eligible for up to eight (8) fine deferrals per month, a business must request verification of eligibility from our Code Compliance Division by completing this form and emailing it to: codecompliance@rentonwa.gov or mailing it to Attn: Code Compliance, City of Renton, 1055 S. Grady Way, 6th Floor, Renton, WA 98057. The request should detail how your business is compliant with the eligibility requirements. City staff will verify the presence of cart signs and confirm your methods of security measures (the method of verification may vary depending on the security measure.) To defer fees for up to eight (8) carts in a calendar month, the store shall: 1.Affix permanent identification to shopping carts – Identifies the owner of the shopping cart and/or the name of the business establishment and lists a current telephone number and/or address for returning carts. 2.Implement one of the below security measures – Physical impediments of methods to prevent removal of shopping carts from the premises of the retail establishment including, but not limited to: a.Electronically activated, self-braking wheels; b.Poles mounted to shopping cart, which prevent their removal from the interior of the retail establishment; c.Utilization of a cart patrol and retrieval company; d.Dedicated security personnel; and/or e.Other measures deemed appropriate and effective by the CED Administrator.
