HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdden 1 FORM: ADD-2010 1140, CAG-14-0201 Adden #1-14 ADDENDUM NO. 1 ENGINEERING CONSULTANT AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES for Central Renton Sewer Interceptor Reline & Upsize Project CAG-14-020 1`� This Addendum is made and entered into this day of Olt., by and between the City of Renton, hereinafter called the "City", and BHC Consultants, LLC, whose address is, 1601 Fifth Avenue, Suite 500, Seattle, WA 98101, hereinafter called the "Consultant". WITNESSETH THAT: WHEREAS, the City engaged the services of the consultant under Engineering Consultant Agreement CAG-14-020, dated February 18, 2014,to provide engineering services necessary for the Central Renton Sewer Interceptor Reline& Upsize Project; and WHEREAS, the City desires to complete the work associated with the Renton Sewer Interceptor Reline & Upsize Project, and the City does not have sufficient qualified engineering employees to perform the work within a reasonable time; and WHEREAS, the City and consultant have determined that additional services are required to complete the work items listed in Exhibit A Scope of Services under the original contract CAG-14-020, dated February 18, 2014; NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Section VIII Extra Work of the Master Agreement CAG-14-020, dated February 18, 2014, it is mutually agreed upon that Engineering Consultant Agreement CAG-14- 020, is amended to include the work and associated budget as follows: 1. The Scope of Work (Section I of the Master Agreement CAG-14-020) is modified to include the additional services on the attached Exhibit A . 2. The Payment (Section VI of the Master Agreement CAG-14-020) is modified to include payment for the additional work items defined in Exhibit A . The revised contract total payable for work on this contract addendum is increased from $97,358.00, to $115,781.00 making a difference of $18,423.00. The maximum amount payable for the additional work items defined in Exhibit A of this contract addendum is $18,423.00, without prior authorization from the City. 3. The Time of Completion (Section V of the Master Agreement CAG-14-020) for the above referenced contract is extended until December 31, 2016. All other provisions of Consultant Agreement CAG-14-020 dated February 18, 2014, shall apply to this addendum. CONSULTANT CITY OF RENTON vW r 14 Signature Dae Gregg Zi n ate Public Wor er s Administrator Type or Print Name Title ADDENDUM#1 to CAG-14-020 EXHIBIT A CITY OF RENTON CENTRAL RENTON SEWER INTERCEPTOR RELINE & UPSIZE PROJECT SUPPLEMENTAL WORK SCOPE OF SERVICES December 17, 2014 Per your request, this scope of services is furnished to the City of Renton (City). It summarizes the supplemental engineering and related services to be performed by BHC Consultants, LLC (BHC) and our subconsultant—Aspect (geotechnical engineering) in support of the City's Central Renton Sewer Interceptor Reline and Upsize project. This proposal is based on our understanding of the City's needs and requirements gained during our meeting with you on November 17, 2014, as well as subsequent related discussions and input. Proposed Work Scope The following efforts are anticipated. • Task 008— Final Design and Preparation of Drawings and Technical Specifications o Update drawings to reflect revised bid date - March 2015. • Task 012—Project Management o Documentation of additional work and preparation and execution of a contract amendment and related efforts. o Miscellaneous related project management including staff management, contracting, invoicing, project progress/status reporting, etc. associated with the modified/expand project and extended schedule. o Communication and coordination with City staff, BHC staff, and others to exchange information, provide assistance, discuss related issues, coordinate efforts, etc. asso- ciated with the modified/expanded project and extended schedule. *The budget assumes a limited, up to eight (8) calendar months, period ending no later than August 30, 2015. • Task 013— Support During Construction (New) o Pre-Construction Conference —Attend a pre-construction conference. Contribute to the agenda for the meeting and participate in the discussion of the technical aspects of the project. BHC's Project Engineer will attend. o Technical and General Project Support—At the City's request, assist with resolving technical issues, questions, or problems, review and comment on select Contractor submittals, clarifying or understanding the intended design and contract documents, and reviewing proposals for changes in the work or design. As needed or appropri- ate, provide supplemental instructions and/or drawings/sketches for clarification. Provide related miscellaneous support and assistance during construction, including P. 1 of 2 City of Renton Central Renton Sewer Interceptor Reline & Upsize Supplemental Consultant Services December 17, 2014 tw general communication and coordination with City staff and others to exchange in- formation, provide assistance, discuss related issues, coordinate efforts, etc. 'Due to the difficulty in determining the extent of technical support that may be desired/required during construction, a budget allowance of$5,500 has been established for this task. o Site Visit(s) During Construction - Make a site visit to review the work, and/or coordi- nate with the City's staff and/or on-site construction observer. Once the work is sub- stantially complete and ready for final inspection, attend a walk-through with the con- tractor, City staff, and construction observer to support the preparation of a punch list. For budgeting purposes, BHC's Project Engineer will attend up to two (2) site visits/construction meetings for an average of four (4) hours each including prepara- tion, travel, and attendance. o Geotechnical Engineering Inspection/Testing Services - Provide for limited, on-call geotechnical engineering inspection and/or testing services during construction to verify that the soils or other materials being incorporated into the work meet the requirements of the Contract Documents. Due to the difficulty in determining the extent of services that may be required under this activity, a budget allowance of $2,500 has been established for this activity. o Record Drawings - Prepare record drawings for the project incorporating revisions to the drawings as marked up on the contractor's record drawing set and as marked up on the City inspector's record drawing set. An electronic copy on a CD and one full- size set of the record drawings (printed on 22"x34" mylar) will be provided to the City. The extent of work, which may be required under this activity, cannot be accurately predicted, and therefore, a budget allowance of approximately $2,500 has been established for this work. Fee Based on the attached hour effort estimate and related expenses, we estimate our fee for the proposed supplemental engineering services and related efforts to be $18,423 which includes $2,500 for a subconsultant and $155 for related reimbursable expenses. See the attached Exhibit A (cont.) for further details.
