NOTE: Change Orders and Supplemental Agreements require FAA approval prior to construction,
otherwise no Federal participation can be granted. State Aeronautics concurrence is required when
state participation is anticipated.
JUSTIFICATION FOR CHANGE
1. Brief description of the proposed contract change(s) and location(s).
CO#02 reduces the scope of work by removing Schedule III (Blast Wall Artwork and Blast Wall
LIghting) from the contract. This reduction of scope would not change the duration of the project.
2. Reason(s) for the change(s) (Continue on reverse if necessary)
An allowance of$90,000 was allocated for Schedule III. However, the cost estimated by the
Contractor(Gary Merlino Constructions)was in excess of$200,000 making this part of the project
unfeasible.
3. Justifications for unit prices or total cost.
Since this change order is being issued before any costs were incurred by the contractor for this part of
the project, Schedule III has been eliminated in its entirety from this project.

Comment Though this is an AIP funded project, Schedule II & III of the project are being funded by
the City of Renton. Hence removal of Schedule III was not discussed with the FAA. City
of Renton reserves its rights to perform this work as an independent project at a later date.
