The Contractor is hereby directed to make the changes to the Contract as descriibed.herein. This document and all attachments are a
supplement to the contract. Allwork,materials and measurements for the type of construction involved shall be in accordance with
the contract documents of the above named project unless stated otherwise in this change order.
Summary of Proposed Changes:
After meetings with the designer,concrete subcontractor&electrical subcontractor it was determined the
ramps could not be constructed with the monolithic pour as indicated in the plans.This change drastically
increased the necessary time for survey and layout,along with the concrete installation. The curb and
gutter had to be installed first to establish the elevation control points fiat the pedestrian push button pole
bases. Once these were installed, then the ramps and sidewalk could be completed. This required
sequence of events needed 3 separate concrete pours at each ramp location. Lakeside is requesting
additional working days for each ramp at no cost.This request meets the criteria of section 1-08.8 part Sa;
"In Section 1-04.4 if a change increases the time to do any of the Work including unchanged Work.".
Section 1-04.4 part 4"Altering the way the Work is to be done."addresses this specific situation.
The Contract time is extended by 17 days.

This change order constitutes lull and complete compensation for all labor,equipment,materials,overhead,profit,any and all
indirect costs,and time adjustment to perform the above described changes. AIS other costs are non compensible.

Extension of Time
Lakeside Industries requests an extension of time for this project per WSDOT
specification 1-08.8. After meetings,with the designer,concrete subcontractor&
electrical subcontractor it was determined the ramps could not be constructed with the
monolithic pour as indicated in the plans. This change drastically increased the necessary
time for survey and layout,along with the concrete installation.
The curb and gutter had to be installed first to establish the elevation control points for
the pedestrian push button pole bases. Once these were installed,then the ramps and
sidewalk could be completed. This required sequence of events needed 3 separate
concrete pours at each ramp location.
Lakeside is requesting an additional 1.5 working days for each ramp;this totals an
additional 24 working days. This request meets the criteria of section 1-08.8 part 5a;"In
Section 1-04.4 if a change increases the time to do any of the Work including unchanged
Works'. Section 1-04.4 part 4"Altering the way the Work is to be done" addresses this
specific situation.
While this delay was originally discussed in mid June,when direction was given by the
City of Renton not requiring the monolithic pour;Lakeside is now submitting a formal
request for an extension of time.
