SUMMARY OF PROPOSED CHANGE: New Item 24. This change authorizes the Contractor to dewater the pond into the sanitary sewer and dispose of excavated material that had become saturated as a result of exceptionally heavy rainfall in late September, 2013. In order to dewatering into the sanitary sewer,the contractor was required to setup and maintain traffic control,hoses and pumps. Since the City has already paid the contractor for disposing of the dry excavated material per the unit bid price for Bid Item No. 10,this change order covers the cost difference between the dry and wet disposal fee charged by the disposal site. The cost breakdown for this item is listed below and is full compensation for all work described above: • Labor and equipment to setup and maintain traffic control required for dewatering to sanitary sewer. • Labor, equipment to setup and maintain pumps and hoses used to pump from pond to sanitary sewer. • Disposal Fee for saturated material. • Equipment to load wet material for disposal. A copy of the Contractor's cost summary sheet is attached.
