Describe the proposed amendment, identify how the new proposal differs from the awarded grant, and
provide the reason /justification for the request (attach additional pages if more space is needed).
The City of Renton entered into a partnership with the Friends of the Cedar River Watershed to complete
this project. Several workshops and other trainings which were anticipated to occur during the months
of February through May could not occur without the signed agreement The Agreement was held by
KCD and its future was left uncertain when KCD funding was being questioned in light of recent court
cases. The City of Renton was in constant communication with KCD staff about the agreement status
and was told the agreement being returned to the City of Renton was not certain The agreement was
returned sip-ned to the City of Renton on May 4 2012 By that date it became too late to initiate the
workshops and trainin>ss crucial to the success of the project and the partner organization moved on to
proiects that were more certain to occur. Because of this we are requesting to begin the project as
proposed in the grant description in January of 2013 with completion of the project extended to
December 31 2013
from December 31 2012.
