Reason for Change:
An RFI was issued on 1122 13 asking for a solution to constructing the return walls at abutment I and
3. Several options were discussed in a meeting field with the Atkinson and Berger4BAM.The C'on-
tractor selected the option to construct the return wall in four separate pours. This required mobilizing
a pump truck on four separate occasions,versus just one and additional tune associated with forninu,
placing rebar,adding rebar couplers and removing torrms.
Atkinson requested compensation of 524,188.00 and an additional non compensable 20 working days.
BergerABAlb1 ran an independent estimate for the added work and inefficiencies and justified the ad-
ditional cost which was compensated in change order number 14 executed on April 21,2014. Howev-
er working days could not be evaluated at that time since a schedule update had not been submitted. It
«as agreed that once the schedule update was received we could then compare to the ori-sinal baseline
and subsequent updates. The latest update was received on i1rlav 21,201-1.
The original baseline schedule listed activities S3-1360 West Bridge Abut I Set f=orms and S3-1460
West Bridgc/Abut 3 Set Forms as critical path activities The concrete pouts would occur directly after
then abutment backfill. The result of RFI 97 is that it created a new critical path activity#iv forming.
pouring and stripping die phase 2 return walls that needed to tbIlow pouring concrete at abutment I
and 3.This was not anticipated in the original schedule and is reflectedin the update of),,lay 21.2014.
Therefore this change adds 20 non compensable workinC7 days as the result of RFI 97.

Reason for Change:
An RFI was issued on 11/22i 13 asking for a solution to constructing the return walls at abutment
I and 3. Several options were discussed in a meeting held with the Atkinson and BergerABAM.
The Contractor selected the option to construct the return wall in four separate pours. This
required mobilizing a pump truck on four separate occasions, versus just one and additional time
associated with forming,placing rebar,adding rebar couplers and removing forms.
Atkinson requested compensation of$24,188.00 and an additional non compensable 20 working
days. BergerABAM ran an independent estimate for the added work and inefficiencies and
justified the additional cost which was compensated in change order number 14 executed on
April 21,2014. However working days could not be evaluated at that time since a schedule
update had not been submitted.It was agreed that once the schedule update was received we
could then compare to the original baseline and subsequent updates. The latest update was
received on May 21,2014.
