THE CONTRACT IS MODIFIED AS FOLLOWS:
Background
The following changes were requested for the traffic signal system on the Rainier Ave S Project:
1. The Contractor's subcontractor,Amaya Electric,proposed the use of wood poles for the temporary strain pole in lieu
of the steel strain poles.
2. Increase the size of the temporary camera mounting brackets from the originally specified 6 inch tube Pelco Astro-
Brac Extended Tilt and Pan mount with cable mount and to a 72 inch tube Pelco Astro-Brac Extended Tilt and Pan
mount with cable mount to provide better corridor traffic control during construction.This would be a change in
materials only;the scope of work would remain the same.
Description of Change
The contract documents specified that a Type V strain pole be utilized for the temporary signalization during construction of
the permanent traffic signal system.The City has approved the use of the wood poles for the temporary strain pole.The City
saw this change as a benefit as it will allow for the temporary system to remain functioning while the commissioning of the
permanent system takes place. In addition,this change will insure the permanent system is tested and functioning prior to the
removal of the temporary system.This is a no cost change to the Contract.
The City of Renton directed that 6"camera mounting brackets to be installed and used on the temporary traffic signal
systems.The longer 72"mounting brackets would be used on the temporary traffic signal systems,while the original specified
6"camera mounting hardware would be utilized on the permanent traffic signal system.This is a material only change to the
Contract.
Description of Work
Contractor to provide and install a wood strain pole on the eastern corner of Rainier Ave S and S 7th Street for the installation
of the temporary traffic signal.Contractor to provide and install a wood strain pole on the north-eastern corner of Rainier Ave
S and S 3`d Place for the installation of the temporary traffic signal.These two wood poles shall be augured into place and
cobra head lighting shall be attached. Installation of wood poles shall meet the requirements of the Contract Documents and
WSDOT Standard Plans J-15.15-00 and J-15.15.10-00.
The Contractor shall install the universal camera mount with 72 inch riser on the temporary traffic signal system as per the
Contract Documents direction for the originally specified universal camera mount with 6 inch riser. Upon removal of the 72"
camera mounts from the temporary traffic signal system,the Contractor shall return them to the City of Renton's
Maintenance Department.
Material
72-inch tube Pelco Astro-Brac Extended Tilt and Pan mount with cable mount.
