The committee acts in an advisory capacity to community services staff, mayor, and city council on matters of particular interest to senior citizens in the Renton community. Senior citizens who represent the diverse nature of the city, including ethnicity, geography and gender are encouraged to apply. Applicants are interviewed by members of the existing advisory committee and approved by the mayor. Members serve without compensation and must be able to attend meetings the first and third Mondays of each month at 10 a.m. at the Renton Senior Activity Center. To apply, download an application from the city’s website, rentonwa.gov/boardsandcommissions/ or call 425-430-6632 to have one mailed. Applications are also available at the Renton Senior Activity Center, 211 Burnett Avenue North. Completed applications should be returned to Debbie Little at the Senior Activity Center or mailed to the City of Renton, Mayor’s Office, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057.
