' 9/11/78 Page 2 . • Hi-Gate Development ' Continued Councilman Stredicke` inquired for clarification of the record and audience whether committee recommendations were in keeping with the recommendations of the Hearing Examiner also as regards sewer line, being advised• by Committee,''Chairman Perry, that committee , report is in full agreement. Councilwoman Thorpe inquired whether sewer line installation in the Hi-Gate plat was finalized, noting cost information for NE 16th St. as opposed to NE' 20th installation. ' Public Works Director Gonnason explained costs of the two locations • ' noting NE 16th would be considerably more expensive for the developer, however, noted less costly to the City to operate pumping at Jones ' Ave. line rather than NE 16th due to shorter distance and lower • pumping head. Councilwoman Thorpe further inquired re stability and maintenance of line via blueberry farm rather than on 16th and was advised that no problems are forseen by the Public Works Director. Councilwoman Thorpe requested comments be included in, the record for assistance at time of final plat approval . Councilman Perry . reported that sewers for this area are in the planning stage and ; subject to change to either NE 16th or NE 20th (being confirmed by the Public Works Director) 'and Perry further requested inclusion in . the record. ' Dana Backiel , 1835 NE. 20th, explained being a renter on the property to be developed for Hi-Gate and' asked when bulldozing of the proper- ty could commence, being advised by the Public Works Director that would be developer's determination, suggesting not prior to 30 days. OLD BUSINESS 11.00'w" . Transportation Transportation Committee Chairman Shinpoch presented report • Committee Report recommending award of contract for LID No. 302, Lind Ave. , to LID 302 Lind Ave Frank Coluccio Construction Co. , low bidder, in the amount of Contract Award $3,761 ,633.85. The report further recommended the Mayor and •City Clerk be authorized to sign the contract. MOVED BY SHINPOCH, SECOND SHANE, COUNCIL CONCUR IN COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION. CARRIED. Left Turns The Transportation Committee report recommended that the matter of . Rainier Ave. S. left turns on, Rainier Ave. be referred to the Administration for appropriate- ac.tion. The report noted the Public Works Department is • meeting with the merchants in the vicinity of the Renton Shopping Center on this* matter. Damage Stredicke objected to .waiving of off-site improvements and discussion and ensued as to authority of the Board of Public Works, Hearing Examiner Off-Site and Council ;• Public Works -Gonnason explained the Board of Public Improvements Works can grant deferral up to two years for, more appropriate timing . on installation, but does not grant exceptions to the sub-division ordinance.
