SUBJECT: Inclusive Emergency Communication Plan
The Renton Annex to the King County Inclusive Emergency Communication Plan (IECP) is
fully in force now and will be referenced whenever emergency circumstances arise.
Upon completing legal review, it was determined that the Renton Annex to the King
County IECP need not be formally submitted to the council as part of the
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) adoption process. Because the
plan is operational/tactical in nature, and is developed independently of the CEMP,
which has its own adoption process under state law, we will continue to reassess and
reevaluate this plan annually. Therefore, emergency management staff will seek your
input regularly as part of an annual review process.
To support the recommendation to have this plan be reviewed more frequently and
therefore not be tied to the CEMP, a minor wording change has been indicated on pg. 4
in the attached document. The final clean copy will be saved in our suite of other
emergency plans.
