HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/11/2019 - Agenda Bill CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 5923 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DISSOLVING THE RENTON LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD AND REPEALING CHAPTER 2-13 OF THE RENTON MUNICIPAL CODE, AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, at its January 16, 2019 meeting the Renton Library Advisory Board ("Board") members voted to dissolve the Board; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the vote, the City Council agrees to dissolve the Board; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The Renton Library Advisory Board is dissolved. SECTION II. All portions of the Renton Municipal Code in this ordinance not shown in strikethrough and underline edits remain in effect and unchanged. SECTION III. Chapter 2-13 of the Renton Municipal Code is repealed. No Library Advisory Board member shall receive any compensation for his or her service the City Council. 2 ORDINANCE NO. 5923 2_13_n TERMS. VACANCIES. A. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or work of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court or competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality thereof shall not affect the constitutionality of any other section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance. SECTION V. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after publication of a summary of this ordinance in the City's official newspaper.
