HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdden 1 CAG-1 7-1 53,Adden#1-18 AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR CITY HALL ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION PROJECT (CAG-17-153) THIS AMENDMENT, dated / L,,/A4 2�/ 20/S is by and between the City of Renton (the "City"), a Washington municipal corporation, and S.M. Stemper, Architects ("Consultant"), a Washington State Professional Services Corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the "Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties. Whereas,the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-17-153, dated July 13, 2017, to provide necessary services for the Architectural Design, Production of Bid Documents,Assistance in Bidding, Construction Administration, Close Out, Punch List and Back Punch (referred to herein as the"Agreement"); Whereas,the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, and change the compensation in order to add additional services: Split Bid Package, Replace Specification Division 0 and Division 1,and to do Electrical Load Metering. NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-17-153 is amended as follows: 1. Scope of Work:Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit A-1,which is attached and incorporated herein. 2. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of compensation payable to Consultant is increased from $286,281.00 to $365,118.00, plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid based upon Work actual performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in Exhibits A and A-1 of the Agreement. 3. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if fully set forth herein. STEMPER In ARCHITECTS A Professional Limited Liability Company Tuesday,February 27,2018 Robert Ebert Capital Project Coordinator Community Services Facilities Division Renton City Hall,6th Floor 1055 South Grady Way Renton,WA 98057-3232 Robert, Thank you for the opportunity to submit this additional service request for professional services for the elevator modernization at Renton City Hall.The additional services proposal will cover all efforts to complete three specific tasks: 1. Task 1:Split Bid Packages: The(4)elevators at Renton City Hall are repeatedly failing at an alarming rate.Owner has requested that the elevator modernization project be expedited.Therefore the Owner has requested that the design team split the Elevator work out from the rest of the bid package to engage an Elevator Contractor as soon as possible so as to start project's elevator systems fabrication lead time earlier than initially scheduled.Fees for this task total$33,431. 2. Task 2:Replace Division 00 and 01 and Assist Revision with City Attorney At start of project City of Renton's Division 00 and 01 standards had not been established. Project started with one set of Division 00 and 01 but then was asked to switch to alternate standard.Revisions to alternate standard included assisting Owner and Renton Legal Department with revisions to specification manual.Fees for this task total$27,156. 3. Task 3:Electrical Load Metering: After initial design work,review of existing documents,and coordination with Owner,design team was not able to confirm that two emergency generators will have adequate power for code required elevator upgraded systems.Therefore a pair of 30 day load tests will need to be completed in order to complete electrical design and show Authority Having Jurisdiction that existing building infrastructure can support elevator modernization design additions.Fees and expenses for this task total$18,250.
