Renton’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is seeking applications for 2016 lodging tax
grants
Renton, WA: The City of Renton’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is now accepting grant applications
for 2016 funding of projects that enhance tourism and visitors in Renton. These grants are available to
convention and visitors’ bureaus, destination marketing organizations, non-profits such as chambers of
commerce and lodging associations, and municipalities to support tourism marketing and operations in
Renton.
The funding for these grants is the city's share of taxes collected on overnight stays at hotels and motels
within the city. Renton City Council has appointed a Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) and tasked it with
distributing these funds. Members of this committee include representatives of the City of Renton, Rento n
Chamber of Commerce and local hotels.
Grants applications can be submitted for any of the following types of activities or projects:
Tourism promotion and marketing
Marketing and operations of a special event or festival designed to attract tourists
Operation of a tourism promotion agency
Operations and capital expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by a municipality
or a public facilities district
A workshop for interested applicants has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 28 at 3:30pm, in the 7th
Floor Conferencing Center at Renton City Hall. Copies of the application and related materials are available

October 13, 2015 Grant applications available online
October 28, 2015, 3:30 pm Lodging Tax Grant workshop, Renton City Hall
November 20, 2015, 5:00 pm Applications due
November 23, 2015 LTAC receives applications for review
December 4, 2015 LTAC interviews applicants
January 2016 LTAC recommends funding list to City Council for approval
