City of Renton Seeks Candidates for Human Services Advisory Committee
RENTON - The City of Renton is seeking candidates for the Human Services Advisory Committee. Each
member will be appointed by the Mayor. Members serve for a three-year term without compensation,
must reside inside the city limits of Renton and must be able to attend meetings the third Tuesday of
each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Residents who represent the diverse nature of the city, including
ethnicity, geography, gender and age are encouraged to apply
The Human Services Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the city in the disposition of
human services and allocation of funds to specific programs and projects, and assists in developing
policies related to human services affecting Renton residents. The committee has also have been
involved in the Renton Community Needs Assessment and the first human services strategic plan.
Members strive to understand the human service needs of Renton residents and to keep current on
community-wide actions that may affect the availability and quality of human services provisions in
Renton.
To apply for membership, download an application from th e Boards and Commissions webpage at
rentonwa.gov or call 425-430-6650 to have an application mailed. Completed applications should be
mailed to City of Renton, Mayor’s Office, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057. Applications
must be received by October 30, 2015. Applicants will be interviewed by members of the Human
Services Advisory Committee, who will make recommendations to the Mayor for final appointment.
