The event will be held at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, 1201 Lake Washington Boulevard North. The celebration will have something for everyone, including free children’s activities and face painting from noon to 8:00 p.m., sponsored by Coal Creek Family YMCA and Walmart; the 2nd Annual Sand Blast Volleyball Tournament from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; stage entertainment from 12:30 to 9:30 p.m., sponsored by Sanctuary and The Reserve Apartments; and a professional fireworks display from the Ivar’s Waterwalk at 10:00 p.m. Ivar’s, Kidd Valley, beachside concessions and espresso vendor “Zone 3 Explorers” will be available all day in the park. Attendees are encouraged to join the city in “greening” Renton’s events by using the recycling receptacles in the park. Park rules and event restrictions prohibit the following: personal fireworks, alcohol, pets, animals, enclosed tents, large barbecues and drones. Pop-up canopies (up to 10 x 10 secured with weights only, no stakes), small children's tents, umbrellas and umbrellas chairs are allowed. Personal fireworks are banned within the Renton city limits at all times. The ban will be actively enforced. Event Schedule 7:00 a.m. – Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park opens 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Volleyball Tournament Noon to 8:00 p.m. – Free KidZone activities 12:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Stage entertainment 10:00 p.m. – Fireworks display from Ivar’s Waterwalk Stage Entertainment 12:30 p.m. – Renton City Concert Band 2:15 p.m. – The Jangles, Western Swing 3:45 p.m. – Northwest Tap Connection 5:00 p.m. – Coal Creek Family YMCA – Fitness is Fun! 6:00 p.m. – African All Stars 7:15 p.m. – Official Welcome & National Anthem 8:00 p.m. – Oncore, R&B Dance Hits The following hours will be enforced on July 4th At the finger piers and bulkhead: all boats must be cleared from this area by 7:00 p.m. At the boat launch: no launching or pick-up of watercraft from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. Attendees should note the following parking and access information • Parking is limited at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park and is not permitted along Lake Washington Boulevard North. • Parking is available on Houser Way North, on the top two floors of the parking garage at The Landing and in the parking lots located at North 8th Street, Park Avenue North and Garden Avenue North. • Due to construction, parking is not available at the Bristol Apartments at Southport along Lake Washington, located between Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park and Boeing. • There is no event shuttle service. • Courtesy pick-up and drop-off will be available in the boat launch area. Access to the boat launch will not be available between 9:30 to 11:15 p.m. • Vehicle access to Lake Washington Boulevard will be restricted beginning at 9:30 p.m. to facilitate exit of pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
