The property is located within the R-10 Zone. The proposed fence exceeds the 4-foot high maximum height permitted for hedges, fences, and retaining walls along street frontages per RMC4-4-040D.2. The applicant proposes to install the fence on the property line, rather than setting the fence back the minimum required twenty (20') feet (See Exhibit 1). The proposed lower portion of the fence would be constructed with a stone wall that is approximately 16-18 inches tall. The upper portion of the fence would be constructed with wrought iron fence and would be transparent (See Exhibit 2). The applicant proposes to install an eight foot (8') landscape strip that would be visible behind the fence. The proposed landscape strip includes Arborvitae shrubs, Chamaerops humilis, and Pieris mountain fire (See Exhibit 3). Appeals of permit issuance must be filed in writing on or before 5:00 p.m. on August 19, 2016, together with the required fee with: Hearing Examiner, City of Renton, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057. Appeals to the Examiner are governed by RMC 4-8-110 and more information regarding the appeal process may be obtained from the Renton City Clerk's Office, 425-430-6510. Reconsideration: Within 14 days of the decision date, any party may request that the decision be reopened by the approval body. The approval body may modify his decision if material evidence not readily discoverable prior to the original decision is found or if he finds there was misrepresentation of fact. After review of the reconsideration request, if the approval body finds sufficient evidence to amend the original decision, there will be no further extension of the appeal period. Any person wishing to take further action must file a formal appeal within the 14-day appeal time frame. Not sure why people do that but they do. 2. Thi s will be a very nice iron and stone with a 16" -18" stone foot wall putting any kind of landscaping in front of the beautiful stone would only block the beauty of it.
