This letter is regarding the Special Administrative Fence Permit LUA09-091 that was issued for
the fence located _at 253 Elma Place NE, on September 23, 2009. The appeal period for the
permit ended on October 7, 2009 and no appeals were filed.
As stated in the permit conditions, you are required to:
• The applicant must install the required landscaping within 90 days of granting of the
. fence permit. Contact the project manager by December 22, 2009 for an inspection ·
of the landscaping.
All landscaping must be completed within 90 days· of the Division's approval of the Special
Fence Permit. If you have any questions, please contact me at (425) 430-7270.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & ANALYSIS: The applicant is requesting to construct a six foot high
cedar fence along NE 2nd Place (the south property line) for the property located at 253 Elma
Place NE. The proposed fence would be similar in construction to other fences in the
surrounding neighborhood. Located within the side yard along a street, the fence would be 39
feet in length and would connect to an existing fence located on the west edge of the property.
The east section of fence would return approximately ten feet to the house to enclose the yard
with a gate. The applicant proposes that the landscaping to be planted on the street side of the
fence would be done in accordance with the approved landscape plan from the Magnussen
Final Plat (LUA07-129)[Exhibit 2]. The fence would not affect any clear vision areas.

424-5555, to determine the location of underground utilities (telephone, streetlights, cable,
electric), which may be located behind the sidewalk.
APPEALS: Appeals of permit issuance must be filed with the City of Renton Hearing Examiner
by S:00 p.m. on October 7, 2009. Appeals must be filed in writing, together with the required
fee to the City of Renton Hearing Examiner, City of Renton, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA
98057. City of Renton Municipal Code Section 4-8-110 governs appeals to the Hearing
Examiner. Additional information regarding the appeal process may be obtained from the
Renton City Clerk's Office, (425) 430-6510.
