The control structure riser has 0 25' of freeboard instead of 05' as per design. I've confirmed that the other
dimensions are within acceptable design tolerances.
In order to provide the required freeboard I've re-analyzed the vault performance with 440' of detention depth
(see attached) I propose to remove 0.35' from the top of the overflow riser, and re-drill the top orifice to be I 3/8",
leaving the bottom orifice at 1 3116", The top orifice height would remain at 3.20',
The asbuilt vault would provide the required Level! flow control without further modification, since the vault
already included some additional volume. The required detention volume with 4.40' of detention depth is 18,883
cu-ft and the asbuilt volume would be 19,400 cu-It
If you have no comments or concerns. we will proceed with the modification and submit a revised asbuilt and
volume certification for the vault.

Thank you for the May I, 2008 application for Plan Change No. I for the LaFortuna Townhomes
commercial site development permit issued under DDES Activity No. B03DCOOI. The purpose
of this letter is to notify you that the Site Engineering and Planning (SE&P) Section, Building
Services Division, has reviewed the engineering submittal prepared by D.R. Strong Consulting
Engineers, Inc. and dated Nov. 14,2007. The following list summarizes site engineering issues
that must be addressed in your next submittal.
I) Please include a detail illustrating the proposed 6-inch perforated interceptor drain with
respect to the standard rockery detail on sheet C8, which shows a 12-inch perforated drain
behind the wall.
2) Please secure and record a temporary construction easement agreement with the adjacent
property owner reflecting the proposed offsite work along the north central property line as
indicated by the following note on plan sheet C6: "Drain Offsite Low Area to Temp.
Interceptor Drain". Once recorded, please inform DDES of the recording number.
In addition to any submittal requirements noted in the comments, please submit three (3) copies
of corrected plan sheets to the Permit Center, 900 Oakesdale Ave SW, Renton, WA 98057-5212.
All review comments must be addressed before the engineering plans can be approved. Due to
the nature of the comments, further review is necessary.

The control structure riser has 0.25' of freeboard instead of 0.5' as per design. I've confirmed that the other
dimensions are within acceptable design tolerances.
In order to provide the required freebcard I've re-analyzed the vault performance with 4.40' of detention depth
(see attached). I propose to remove 0.35' from the top of the overflow riser, and re-drill the top orifice to be 1 3/8",
leaving the bottom orifice at 1 3/16". The top orifice height would remain at 3.20'.
The asbuilt vault would provide the required Level 1 flow control without further modification, since the vault
already included some additional volume. The required detention volume with 4.40' of detention depth is 18,883
cu-ft and the asbuilt volume would be 19,400 cu-ft.
If you have no comments or concerns, we will proceed with the modification and submit a revised asbuilt and
volume certification for the vault.

Dear Mr. Best:
Thank you for the May 1, 2008 application for Plan Change No.1 for the LaFortuna Townhomes
commercial site development permit issued under DDES Activity No. B03DCOO 1. The purpose
of this letter is to notifY you that the Site Engineering and Planning (SE&P) Section, Building
Services Division, has reviewed the engineering submittal prepared by D.R. Strong Consulting
Engineers, Inc. and dated Nov. 14,2007. The following list sununarizes site engineering issues
that must be addressed in your next submittal.
I) Please include a detail illustrating the proposed 6-inch perforated interceptor drain with
respect to the standard rockery detail on sheet C8, which shows a l2-inch perforated drain
behind the wall.
2) Please secure and record a temporary construction easement agreement with the adjacent
property owner reflecting the proposed offsite work along the north central property line as
indicated by the following note on plan sheet C6: "Drain Offsite Low Area to Temp.
Interceptor Drain". Once recorded, please inform DDES of the recording number.
In addition to any submittal requirements noted in the comments, please submit three (3) copies
of corrected plan sheets to the Permit Center, 900 Oakesdale Ave SW, Renton, WA 98057-5212.
All review comments must be addressed before the engineering plans can be approved. Due to
the nature of the comments, further review is necessary.
