ACTION: Chair Jim Phelan called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm
II. REVIEW & APPROVAL OF MINUTES for 2/24/09 Meeting:
ACTION: MOVED Andee Jorgensen SECOND Jim Matthew MINUTES APPROVED
III. POLICE ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS:
Chief Milosevich requested the Commission to approve the withdrawal of a resignation by a Police
A. Service Specialist. According to rule 16.11 the Commission along with the appointing authority/chief
must approve the withdrawal. The Police Service Specialist resigned effective March 15, but has
requested to come back to work for the City. Commissioned approved the request for reinstatement.
ACTION: MOVED Andee Jorgenson SECOND Richard Fisher MINUTES APPROVED
IV. POLICE OLD BUSINESS:
A. NONE
V. POLICE NEW BUSINESS:
Civil Service Secretary informed the Commission for information purposes only, that due to the City's
economic conditions, the City is in negotiations with all the Unions in assisting the City in closing the
gap of the financial conditions. Both AFSCME, Local 2170 and IAFF, Local 864 are in negotiations
A. with the City. However, the Police Guild informed the City that they did not feel they could participate
in any kind of compensation reduction or any other kind of reduction. Therefore, the City must move
forward in it's lay off plans for the Police Guild. No action is required of the Commission, this was
information only.
B The Police Service Specialist Eligibility List, dated 03/24/09,was approved. The Police Service
Specialist Examination Report was reviewed.
