AMENDMENT NO. _1_ TO AGREEMENT FOR FS 15 BACKFILL
AND TESTING
THIS AMENDMENT, dated rlfi 9 �q. , X ( , is by and between the City of Renton
(the "City"), a Washington municipal corporation, and HWA GEOSCIENCES INC. ("Consultant"), a
Washington Corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this
Amendment as the "Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties,this Amendment is effective as
of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-18-048, dated
March 15, 2018, to provide necessary services for the FS 15 Project (referred to herein as the
"Agreement");
Whereas,the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, and to change
the compensation in order to add additional services.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-18-048 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2. Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is amended pursuant to the
schedule(s) set forth in Exhibit A-1. All Work shall be performed by no later than January
2, 2019.
3. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased from $16,561.00 to $27,081.00, plus
any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid
based upon Work actual performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in
Exhibit A-1,which is attached and incorporated herein .
4. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Agreement as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

PROPOSED WORK SCOPE:
This cost estimate is based on review of bid tabs and discussion with the client and client representative. Design utilized 2018 WSDOT
Standard Specifications.
The Scope of Services include:
1. Inspection of excavation and subgrade preparation for footings, retaining walls and confirmation of removal of any organic/soft/loose soils.
2. Verify placement and compaction of structural backfill.
3. Prepare a final summary letter of recharged bed material condition after construction..
4. Written field reports will be prepared for all inspections and reviewed for QC.
