CALL TO ORDER Chair Erica Richey called the meeting to order at 5;35 p.m. In Attendance Members: Lynne King, Erita Richey, Kim Unti City Staff: �eter Renner KCLS Staff: Fred Gurney,John Sheller,Jennifer Wooten Absent Members: Laurie Beden, CatF�erine Ploue-5mith II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Lynne King made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Kim Unti 5econded. All were in favor, motion carried, agenda approved. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Lynne King made a mation to approve the April 2015 minutes with one spelling�orrection, Kim Unti seconded. All were in fa�or, motion carried, amended minutes approved. IV. ORAL COMMUNICA710N5 PUBLIC COMMENTS None. V. BOARD COMMUNICATIONS Lynne King mentioned sh� is working with the Center of Hope to get more details on the Center'S Library. VI. ACTION/BRIEFING Jennifer Waoten and Fred Gurney, King County Library Systems, were in attendance f�r presentations. They talked aE�out the Community Plan including the interview process, selecting targets and topics and demographic focus for the remained of 2015. He provided a copy of the Central Ciuster Service Respanse Worksheet and discussed the different target- tapics such as the increase in diversity to adults deli�ered in and out af the Library including li#�rary resources presentations at local agencies with diver5e population within the service area; increase in access and assistance to adults delivered in out and out of the Library ir�cluding Techlab job-workshop series; and increase in programming to�hildren ages 6-12 in and out af the Library including cluster-wide program series which feature in-house programs that are reproducible at some or all branches and Tech-free family game day or night. Programs that can be reproducihle at any branch and will feature board games, card games, games encouraging movement and 5im�le crafts. These programs target tweens but all ages would he welcome. He said the construction is going well and things are progressing nicely. Tl�e fall restraint system is ready to be installed and the carpet has been delivered. After the carpet is ins#alled the shelving installation will begin. Then the lands�aping beds will be put in place and additional concrete pouring. The Boy Statue will ai5o be put in place saon. The Highlands lihrary is afso mo�ing along smoothly. The general contractar i5 doing a great job of keeping all the subcontractars an the project throughaut the praject even if th�re are issues. Peter passed out drawings of the Sunset Terrace Re�elopment project and discussed the drawing. He discussed the entry with the water feature and parking area along with the three stage post tension 51ab. He also mentionec!the �ossible retail tenant options for the street level af the buifding. Vill. KCLS REPORT/JOHN SHELLER John 5heller pravided an update on summer programs &events and talked briefly about program updates and the 5ummer lunch iaunch. VIII. OLD BUSINESS Lynne King is still trying to connect with Linda at Center of Hope for the Library discussion. IX. NEW BLISINE55 None. X. INFORMATI�N The tibrary opening celebration was briefly discussed and will be talked about at length during the next meeting. XI. ApJOURNMENT A mation was made to adjourn the May meeting.
