Chair Jim Phelan called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.
2. Approval Of Minutes:
Moved by eill Larson and Seconded byJim Matthew to approve the February 28, 2017, meeting minutes.
Carried.
3. Unfinished Business:
A. Continuance of Scheduled Hearing for Firefighter Smith*
Commissioner Jorgensen moved and Commissioner Larson seconded to postpone the hearing
with a new date pending. Commissioner Beden amended the motion to request that the hearing
not take place beyond 45 days from the previously scheduled hearing date of April 13, 2017.
Motion carried with the amendment.
Commissioners requested to know if Mr. Smith needed to be present at the hearing if he was
represented by Council. Commissioner Beden stated that he knew it was not a requirement but it
would be preferred if all Commissioners were present at the hearing. The RFA stated they are
receiving medical certification the first of each month. It was also suggested to receive
certification from the medical provider stating that he is not able to attend a hearing.
