Bicycle and pedestrian connections will be provided to the Tukwila Station and the Interurban Trail. Phase 1 - Seg 2a - 2 lane roadway from Naches Ave SW to the Sounder Station, including a BNSF bridge is completed. This project provides a critical four/five-lane arterial that will serve as a connector to West Valley Highway (SR 181) and East Valley Road, as well as an arterial connector to SR 167 from the south. A new east-west arterial roadway will connect the cities of Renton and Tukwila and provide significant congestion relief to existing arterials. The new road will provide access to the Tukwila Train/Sound Transit Station. The new grade separated arterial (UPRR and BNSF railroads) will provide significant benefits to both freight mobility and general motorists.
