There are provisions in the development standards to allow Wireless Communication Facilities to exceed the maximum height limits of the underlying zoning designation and for larger structures the height is determined through the Conditional Use Permit process. DECISION: The height of utility poles shall be determined through the Conditional Use Permit process. JUSTIFICATION: Utility poles are similar in appearance and function to Wireless Communication Facilities, therefore the height requirements established in the development standards for Wireless Communication Facilities should also apply to utility poles. Your submittal should explain the basis for the appeal. Section 4-8-110 of the Renton Municipal Code provides further information on the appeal process. Amateur radio antennas are allowed a maximum height of 6 feet without a Conditional Use Permit. Utility poles and lLarger amateur radio antenna structures will have a maximum height determined by the Conditional Use Permit process, RMC 4-9-030, Conditional Use Permits.
