THE CONTRACT IS MODIFIED AS FOLLOWS:
Description of Change:
Add quantity to the following bid items in the contract:
o Streambed Boulder One Man,Added Quantity= 25.
• Add Working Day(s)to the contract for the additional time required to place the additional
quantity of Streambed Boulder One Man.
Reason for Change:
Prior to placement of Streambed Boulder One Man in the stream channel,the locations for
boulder placement were marked in the field by the Hydraulic Engineer. During this process,the
Hydraulic Engineer noted that the quantity was inconsistent with the recommendations from
the Technical Memorandum dated April 19,2017.The stream profile is at a grade of
approximately 12%.The purpose of the boulders is to roughen the stream channel to slow
down the velocity of the creek inside the culvert.The Hydraulic Engineer recommended
additional boulders be placed in and around the stream channel.
The original plan quantity provided for 5 boulders to be placed in the stream channel, inside the
culvert.The Hydraulic Engineer recommended an additional 25 boulders be placed in the
stream channel, inside the culvert, bringing the total to 30. All parties agreed to do so.
In the development of the specifications prior to bid,the boulders were originally included as a
percentage of the streambed mixture(streambed cobbles, streamed sediment, streambed
boulders). However,the City elected to use standard bid items instead.As a result,the boulders
became measured per each, as opposed to a percentage of the total streambed material to be
placed.The quantity of boulders, per each,calculated by the City and included in the original
contract,was less than intended number of boulders to be ultimately placed.

No changes were made to the drawings.

Adjustment:
This Change Order includes a significant change as defined in Section 1-04.4.Specifically,an
increased quantity in excess of 125 percent over the original plan quantity.The estimated
cumulative total cost of this change is$3,800.
Extension of Time:
The Time for Completion is extended 2 non-compensable Working Day in accordance with
Section 1-08.8.
Equitable Adjustment:
This Change Order does not include an equitable adjustment for the quantity of material added
to the contract by this change order. Prior to the Work,the City and Contractor agreed to add
additional Streambed Boulder One Man using the unit price in the original bid.

Sections 1-04.4 and 1-04.5 of the 2016 WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications shall govern
this Change Order.The Work of the referenced Contract is modified to include the changes
detailed herein.The payment provided for herein shall constitute the complete and final
settlement for all costs of labor,equipment,materials,overhead, profit,permit fees,and all
other claims that may be made by the Contractor as a result of this change.
