AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT FOR FALCON RIDGE LIFT
STATION REPLACEMENT AND FORCE MAIN IMPROVEMENTS

THIS AMENDMENT,dated January c,I ,2019,is by and between the City of Renton(the"City"),
a Washington municipal corporation, and RH2 Engineering, Inc. ("Consultant"), a Washington
corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the
"Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date
signed by both parties.
Whereas,the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-17-049, dated
March 20, 2017,to provide necessary services for the Falcon Ridge Lift Station Replacement and
Force Main Improvements project (referred to herein as the "Agreement");
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope and change the
compensation in order to add engineering services to the project.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-17-049 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A-2,which is attached and incorporated herein
2. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $31,500.00 from $194,880 to
$226,380, plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation
shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts
specified in Exhibit C-2 which is attached and incorporated herein.
3. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Agreement as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

Falcon Ridge Lift Station Replacement and Force Main Improvements

Additional Services
January 2019
Background
The following Scope of Work includes additional services for the Falcon Ridge Lift Station Replacement and
Force Main Improvements project, which were performed by RH2 Engineering, Inc., (RH2) in support of the
City of Renton (City) but exceeded the level of effort outlined in RH2's previous scope of work.
Task 6A—Additional Services
Objective:Provide additional services for unanticipated issues and update design criteria and documents based
on additional tasks performed.
Approach:
6A.1 Prepare Building Permit application. Assist the City to obtain a Building Permit due to the new
process from the City's building department.
6A.2 Review additional shop drawings and submittals. This Fee Estimate was developed based on
previous projects for the City of Renton of comparable scope. The lowest bid contractor for this
project has elected to provide considerably more submittals than was anticipated, requiring
additional effort for review and response.
6A.3 Coordinate Radio-Frequency Identification Device (RFID).This Fee Estimate was developed based on
previous projects for the City of Renton of comparable scope. The contractor submitted several
requests for information (RFIs) regarding the RFID tags specified for the project, which required a
significant effort to coordinate with the contractor, the City, installers, and vendors regarding the
RFID tags.
6A.4 Perform Additional Hydraulic Analysis. After the initial pressure recording of the existing forcemain,
RH2 noticed pressure anomalies in the system. RH2 performed additional investigations and analysis
to understand the pressure fluctuations in the forcemain.
6A.5 Prepare a Coal Mine Hazard Evaluation Technical Memorandum. During the State Environmental
Policy Act (SEPA) review, the City planner requested that RH2 amend the geotechnical report to
include a coal mine hazard evaluation. RH2 prepared a technical memorandum for the coal mine
hazard evaluation.
RH2 Deliverables:
• Building Permit application for the City's submittal in PDF format.
• Responses to contractor submittals and shop drawings in PDF format.
• RFI responses in PDF format and email and verbal responses, as necessary, to respond to contractor
RFID inquiries.

Task 7— Management Reserve
Objective:Provide additional services as requested by the City.
Approach:
7.1 Provide additional services as requested and authorized by the City. Submit a budget estimate for
supplemental services requested by the City. The City shall provide written authorization to proceed
with any supplemental services.
RH2 Deliverables:
• Budget estimate for supplemental services in PDF format.
• Other deliverables as requested by the City under the authorization for any supplemental services.
