(ORA)is pleased to provide you and your firm with this updated proposal to provide special inspection and materials testing services in support of the referenced project. This proposal presents a project description, scope of work, and proposed fee. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will include a 50' diameter, 1.29-MG welded steel reservoir(standpipe) at a height of 98'and with an overflow elevation of 308'will be constructed. The reservoir will feature a self-supported steel dome top and an external steel spiral staircase.Site improvements will also include a 12"diameter inlet supply main from the 435 pressure zone and a 16"diameter connection to a new 308 pressure zone. SCOPE OF WORK: The architect, civil engineer, structural engineer, and applicable building codes dictate which elements of the project require inspection or testing. Based on our understanding of your project, the anticipated scope of work for the testing and inspection services includes, but is not limited to, the following items: • Augercast piles(including load testing, geotechnical testing, and grout testing) • Structural earth walls or modular block wall • Soil compaction • Asphalt compaction • Reinforced concrete • Previous concrete • Proprietary anchors • Steel fabrication • Welding • Radiography Testing (RT) (subcontracted to Mistras) PROPOSED FEE: Otto Rosenau and Associates, Inc. propose to provide the above described services on a unit fee basis where we will charge only for the services we perform. Our unit fees are presented on the attached Fee Schedule. Otto Rosenau &Associates, Incorporated Geotechnical Engineering,Construction inspection&Materials Testing City of Renton Public Works Department Water Utility WTR-27-03956 Kennydale Reservoir EXHIBIT A Proposal No.:19-0135 March 12,2019 Page 2 of 5 Based on our review of the project drawings dated January 1, 2019, our past experience on similar projects, and correspondence with the City of Renton, we suggest a budget of$99,418 be established for the inspection and testing services. The actual total fee for inspection and testing services is dependent on the efficiency, performance, and schedule of the general contractor, subcontractors, and material suppliers. COST SAVINGS: ORA will be staffing the project with a geotechnical inspector who is also licensed by the Washington Association of Building Officials(WABO)for special inspection of reinforced concrete;thus, eliminating the need for a separate full-time special inspector on site during the installation of the augercast piles. Having ORA handle both the structural and geotechnical inspection services (related to the augercast piles), provides a cost savings of approximately$20,000(the cost to have a separate reinforced concrete certified inspector on site for the 35 trips related to the augercast piling). CLOSURE: Thank you for this opportunity to work with you on your project. If you have any questions, please contact us at(206)725-4600. Very truly yours, OTTO ROSENAU &ASSOCIATES,INC. Isaac J.
