Home My WebLink AboutContract CITY OF RENTON New World Systems"' APR G 7 NO3 RECEIVER AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZATION CITY LI-C RYAS OFFICE FOR PROCUREMENT OF COMPUTER HARD_WARE,PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE AND SERVICES July 1,2002 This agreement (Agreement) between Renton Police Department, Washington (Customer) and New World Systems® Corporation,(New World)is to cover the procurement of Computer Hardware,Proprietary Software products and services by New World for Customer. The attached configuration (Exhibit 1) describes the products and services that Customer will be obtaining through New World.By their written approval below,Customer authorizes New World to order the Exhibit 1 products for delivery to: Mr.Eric Iverson City of Renton 1055 S. Grady Way Renton, WA 98055 Upon delivery of the equipment, 100%of the Exhibit 1 cost is due. Customer agrees to pay all applicable finance charges(if any)promptly. Customer is responsible for the site preparation and related costs to install the Exhibit 1 products. Customer is responsible for any returned product charges,including re-stocking and shipping fees,for all 3`d party products ordered by New World on the Customer's behalf. Actual and reasonable travel expenses incurred by New World,and actual employee travel time up to but not exceed four(4)hours per Customer visit,are in addition to the Exhibit 1 cost and will be billed weekly as incurred. Any taxes imposed from the course of this Agreement are the responsibility of the Customer and Customer agrees to remit when imposed.If an exemption is claimed by the Customer,an exemption certificate must be submitted to New World. After execution of this Agreement,the Exhibit 1 components and cost may be changed by mutual agreement of both parties. If a change order in the configuration requires additional costs, New World shall notify Customer of the additional costs and with Customer's approval, these costs shall be borne by Customer. Without such approval, the change order will not be processed. Customer shall or may be required to execute selected Agreements with vendors and New World shall not confirm the ordering of any Exhibit 1 products without Customer's authorized signature on these Agreements. Customer shall receive the benefit of all warranties,services,etc.provided for in the Agreements. CONFIDENTIAL (AA3RD 05/95) City of Renton,WA t?Server iSeries Notes: The above hardware and system software costs assume the licensing of New World Systems' application software and support as part of a complete solution. The processor has been configured based on the proposed software. Additional disk and/or memory may be added should Customer elect to purchase additional software for the iSeries 400. This configuration assumes the use of Customer's existing peripherals. New World will be happy to assist in the acquisition of additional hardware, which Customer may wish to purchase. This configuration assumes that existing PCs operating on the LAN are equipped with Ethernet Cards. Any PCs directly attached to the iSeries 400 will require 5250 Emulation Cards. A detailed study of Customer's current environment may reveal the need for additional hardware and/or software for purposes of connectivity. Cabling has not been proposed. Due to the various requirements in terms of cabling and connections for different personal computers and printers as well as various local requirements, i.e. building codes, use of union personnel, use of electricians, New World recommends that Customer contract with a local firm for any cabling requirements. New World Systems works closely with local vendors in this content providing them with the required specifications and alerting them to any issues. System software costs are based on the number of concurrently signed-on users for each package. Verification of the number of concurrent users is required as the price may vary from the above estimate. IBMprovides defect support for IBM's system software at no charge. Telephone support for all system software to operate on a single processor, including electronic support, is available as "the (t"Server iSeries Support Line" and may be obtained through New World Systems and is required for ongoing software support. This provides support for operational usage, code related problems, and access to PTFs. Software Subscription provides Customer upgrades of IBM system software for the I year duration of the subscription. SCOPE OF SERVICES New World Systems Corp. provides a hardware specialist, at your site, to assist in the hardware installation of the new iSeries 400. New World Systems Corp.will work with you to develop and execute a customized installation plan and perform post installation verification. 2. RESPONSIBILITIES New World System's Responsibilities We agree to: • Define with your representative the installation plan for your site. • Install hardware devices defined in the contract. • Install and Configure OS V5R1 Operating System. • Install operating system PTFs. • Install any additional IBM Licensed Programs purchased. • Install Purchased New World Systems Corp. Software. • Install Pass through to New World Systems Corp. • Configure Server to communicate with existing network. • Train basic system administration. • Perform an entire system save • Perform post installation verification. Our responsibilities are completed when your iSeries system is installed and operational. Customer Responsibilities You agree to: • Designate a representative who will be the focal point for all communications regarding the hardware installation and will have the authority to act on your behalf in matters regarding the installation. • Provide suitable workspace with telephone access for hardware specialist while working on your premises. • Have the hardware at the location where it is to be installed. • Have active network and remote networks at installation location. • Have person or persons responsible for system administration available. • Have an active modem line at location for installation of Pass through with New World Systems Corp.
