RESOLUTION NO. 4228
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH
THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES ENTITLED
"INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF RENTON".
WHEREAS, the City and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources ("DNR")
are authorized, pursuant to RCW Chapter 39.34, to enter into an interlocal government
cooperative agreement; and
WHEREAS, DNR offered the 2014 Urban Forestry Restoration Grant to communities for
improving water quality reaching Puget Sound; and
WHEREAS, the grant provides Puget SounclCorps crews to assist with projects; and
WHEREAS, The Landing right-of-ways were planted with 330 street trees in 2008 and are
now in need of pruning for clearance, and structural pruning is needed to provide public access
for pedestrians and vehicles. This DNR grant will complete the needed tree pruning along the
streets and sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which DNR will
provide free labor for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
interlocal agreement with DNR entitled "Interagency Agreement with the City of Renton".
