RESOLUTION NO. 4219
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND
RATIFYING THE TEMPORARY TOTAL CLOSURE OF NE 31st STREET FROM 2100
NE 31st STREET TO 2230 NE 31st STREET.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton plans to replace a failing culvert that conveys May Creek
under NE 31st Street, at the approximate address of 2185 NE 31st Street, with a new bridge; and
WHEREAS, this construction activity will require temporary street closure along NE 31st
Street, from 2100 NE 31st Street to 2230 NE 31st Street; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RMC 9-9-3 the City Council is to authorize such closures by
means of a resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Responsible Official under RMC 9-9-4, Emergency Closing, has declared
an emergency closure of NE 31st Street; and
WHEREAS, that closure will be periodic; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide full and adequate notice to the public of the
extent and nature of such closure;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The City Council does hereby authorize the temporary closure of NE 31st
Street, from 2100 NE 31st Street to 2230 NE 31st Street for up to 90 calendar days, anytime
during the periods of July 8, 2014, to July 25, 2014, and August 11, 2014, to December 31, 2014,
to allow the City to replace a failing culvert.

SECTION III. The action of the Responsible Official in ordering the emergency closure
is hereby ratified in all respects.
