RESOLUTION NO. 4212
RESOLUTION OF OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER • AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
SOOS CREEK WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT REGARDING• D
MAINTENANCE OF ,DINTERCEPTOR.
WHEREAS, the City and Soos Creek Water and Sewer District are authorized, pursuant
to RCW Chapter 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, to enter into an interlocal government
cooperative agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City and Soos Creek Water and Sewer District (operating as Cascade
Sewer District) entered into an agreement on March 27, 1964, pertaining to the construction,
operation and maintenance of a certain interceptor sewer line, hereinafter referred to as the
"Cascade Interceptor"; and
WHEREAS, the City and Soos Creek Water and Sewer District entered into Addendum 1
of the original agreement on January 5, 2011, pertaining to the immediate need to rehabilitate
portions of the Cascade Interceptor; and
WHEREAS, the remaining portions of the Cascade Interceptor are in need of
rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of both the City and Soos Creek Water and Sewer
District to rehabilitate those remaining portions of the Cascade Interceptor in order to extend
the useful life of those portions not previously rehabilitated; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the
remaining rehabilitation on the Cascade Interceptor will be performed;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
interlocal agreement with Soos Creek Water and Sewer District entitled "Second Addendum to
the March 27, 1964 Cascade Interceptor Agreement Subject: Rehabilitation and Maintenance of
the Cascade Interceptor".
