RESOLUTION NO. 417 2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH
KING COUNTY ENTITLED "AMENDED AND RESTATED SOLID WASTE INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT".
WHEREAS, the City and King County are authorized, pursuant to RCW Chapter 39.34, to
enter into an interlocal government cooperative agreement; and
WHEREAS, in 1988 the City and King County entered into a Solid Waster lnterlocal
Agreement providing for the cooperative management of solid waste in King County for the
term of 40 years through June 30, 2028; and
WHEREAS, the City and King County intend to continue to cooperatively manage solid
waste and to work collaboratively to maintain and periodically update the existing King County
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City and King County desire to amend and restate the Solid Waste
lnterlocal Agreement and extend the term of their collaboration for an additional 12 years
through December 31, 2040;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION 11. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an
interlocal agreement with King County entitled "Amended and Restated Solid Waste lnterlocal
Agreement".
